How defensible are your disclosures?

Most organisations don’t have a reporting problem. They have a confidence problem.

Anyone can produce a report. But not every report survives scrutiny. Investors, auditors, regulators and stakeholders aren’t reviewing your report. They’re reviewing what sits behind it.

The challenges

1. Your reporting is stronger than your foundations

You have a report. You have some data. The question is whether what sits behind them would withstand challenge. As expectations increase, confidence no longer comes from what you’ve published. It comes from what you’ve published. It comes from knowing the materiality and strategy beneath it are robust enough to defend.

2. Your drowning in requirements

CSRD. ISSB. UK SRS. TNFD. Lender expectations. Customer demands. Your challenge isn’t understanding everything. It’s knowing what matters most.

3. It’s harder than ever to build story and substance

Anyone can tell a compelling story. The challenge is ensuring every ambition, target and claim is supported by evidence, action and progress. The strongest disclosures don’t choose between story and substance.

They do both at the same time.
